Preparing Students for Life Beyond School

The Senior Years are a time of purpose, opportunity and preparation.

As students move through Years 10, 11 and 12, they begin making important decisions about their future pathways, aspirations and goals. At Endeavour College, we support students to navigate these years with confidence, independence and a strong sense of purpose.

Our Senior School combines academic challenge, personalised pathways, wellbeing support and real-world learning experiences to help students prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Whether students are pursuing university, vocational training, apprenticeships or employment, we work alongside them to help them discover their strengths, develop their potential and take ownership of their future.

Academic Excellence and Personalised Pathways

Senior School students are challenged to achieve their personal best through a broad range of academic, vocational and applied learning opportunities.

Students are supported to select subjects that align with their strengths, interests and future aspirations. Through high-quality teaching, individual guidance and a culture of high expectations, they develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed in their chosen pathway.

Opportunities may include:

  • A broad range of SACE subjects
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET)
  • Workplace learning experiences
  • University pathway programs
  • Industry engagement opportunities
  • Individualised pathway planning

Students work closely with teachers, course counsellors and the Pathways and Careers Coordinator to create a program that supports both academic achievement and future success.

Choice Makers, Connection Builders, Change Creators

The Senior Years journey is intentionally designed to help students grow as learners, leaders and contributors.

Learning Through Independence, Interdependence and Collective Action

Learning in the Senior School is guided by Endeavour College’s Vision for Learners.

Senior students are encouraged to become increasingly independent and self-directed, while developing the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to the world around them.

By the time students graduate, we aim for them to be:

  • Confident and self-motivated learners
  • Critical and flexible thinkers
  • Effective communicators
  • Resilient and adaptable young adults
  • Compassionate and ethical contributors
  • Leaders who positively influence others

This approach helps prepare students not only for academic success, but for lifelong learning, meaningful relationships and purposeful contribution.

Vocational Education and Training

Vocational Education and Training (VET) provides students with the opportunity to develop practical industry skills while completing their SACE.

For students with a clear interest in a particular industry, VET can support future pathways into further training, apprenticeships, employment or tertiary study. It allows students to gain nationally recognised qualifications, experience workplace expectations and build confidence in real-world settings.

At Endeavour College, VET forms part of a broader approach to personalised pathways, ensuring students can pursue a learning program that reflects their strengths, interests and future goals.

Real-World Learning Experiences

Learning in the Senior Years extends beyond traditional classroom experiences.

Students are encouraged to apply their learning in authentic contexts, developing practical skills, confidence and responsibility along the way.

Depending on their interests and pathways, students may have opportunities to:

  • Participate in workplace learning
  • Undertake VET qualifications
  • Lead College events and initiatives
  • Contribute to performing arts productions
  • Manage technical, creative or practical projects
  • Engage in community service
  • Participate in leadership programs
  • Explore industry and tertiary pathways

These experiences help students connect learning with life beyond school.

Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

We recognise that the Senior Years can be both exciting and challenging.

Strong relationships remain central to the student experience. Through Care Group, pastoral programs and personalised support, students are encouraged to develop resilience, self-awareness, belonging and wellbeing.

The Senior Years Pastoral Framework, VIEW, guides this work through four key areas:

  • Vision for Learners
  • Inclusion
  • Endeavour Way
  • Wellbeing

Care Group provides a safe, caring and respectful environment where students can build relationships, express concerns, engage in meaningful activities and feel connected to the wider College community.

Students are supported by a dedicated team, including:

  • Director of Senior Years
  • Year Level Leaders
  • Care Group Teachers
  • Counselling Services
  • Ministry Staff
  • Adaptive Education Staff
  • Pathways and Careers Coordinator

Together, this team supports students as they navigate academic demands, personal growth, future planning and life as senior members of the College.

Leadership and Service

Senior students play an important role in shaping the culture of Endeavour College.

Through formal leadership roles, mentoring opportunities, service initiatives and everyday interactions, students are encouraged to lead with integrity, compassion and purpose.

Leadership at Endeavour is not simply about holding a title. It is about using your gifts and abilities to positively influence others, build community and contribute to something greater than yourself.

Ready for What Comes Next

By the time students graduate from Endeavour College, our goal is for them to leave with more than a qualification.

We want our students to have confidence in who they are, clarity about their next steps and the character to make a positive contribution to the world around them.

Through academic excellence, personalised pathways, strong relationships and opportunities to lead and serve, Senior School students are supported to become capable, compassionate and purposeful young adults, ready for life beyond school.
