Villages & Care Groups

A Community Where Every Student Belongs

At Endeavour College, every student is known, supported and connected through our Village and Care Group structure.

These communities help students build meaningful relationships, develop a strong sense of belonging and feel supported throughout their time at the College. From their first day through to graduation, students are part of a network that encourages participation, celebrates achievement and provides care during life’s challenges.

Villages and Care Groups play an important role in student wellbeing, leadership, service and connection across year levels.

The Village Structure

Every student is a member of one of Endeavour College’s eight Villages.

Each Village is made up of several Care Groups and brings together students from different year levels. This creates opportunities for mentoring, leadership, peer support and connection across the College.

Throughout the year, Villages come together through:

  • Sporting carnivals
  • Community service initiatives
  • College events and celebrations
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Friendly inter-Village competitions
  • Fundraising and outreach activities

The Village system helps students develop teamwork, responsibility, resilience and pride in contributing to something larger than themselves.

Care Groups

From a Village, each student in placed in a dedicated Care Group throughout their journey at Endeavour College.

Care Groups meet at the beginning of each school day, providing a consistent and supportive environment where students can connect with peers, hear notices, share devotions and begin the day with encouragement.

For many students, their Care Group becomes an important place of connection and belonging. It is where friendships are strengthened, achievements are recognised and support is readily available.

Students are automatically assigned to a Village upon enrolment. Siblings are placed in the same Village, and consideration is also given to family legacy connections, including children of Old Scholars.

Our Villages

Each Village is named after an individual whose leadership, service, innovation or contribution has helped shape Australian society.

The Village crests draw inspiration from the achievements and values of these remarkable people. Each crest includes three symbols that help tell the story of the Village patron and the qualities they represent.

A Strong Network of Support

Student wellbeing is a shared responsibility at Endeavour College.

Alongside their Care Group Teacher, students are supported by a network of staff who work together to care for their learning, wellbeing and personal growth.

This includes:

  • Head of School
  • Head of Village
  • Care Group Teachers
  • College Pastor
  • Ministry Support Staff
  • College Counsellor
  • Inclusive Education Staff
  • Classroom Teachers
  • Student Services Personnel

Students in Years 7 and 8 are also supported by Core Focus Teachers, who play an important role in helping students settle into secondary school, build confidence and develop positive relationships.

This layered approach ensures students have trusted adults who know them, care for them and are available to provide support when needed.

More Than a House System

The Village structure is about more than competition.

It creates a strong sense of identity, belonging and shared responsibility. Through Care Groups, Village activities, service opportunities and College events, students are encouraged to build positive relationships, support one another and contribute to the wider community.

Together, our Villages help bring The Endeavour Way to life through Love, Courage, Forgiveness and Hope.
