Outdoor Education Camp 2017

On Monday 25 April, 15 students and two brave teachers set off on a 3-day camping expedition to Kuitpo Forrest. Over the 3 days, students were challenged to move out of their comfort zones and pushed to their limits during hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and abseiling activities. This camp provided students the opportunity to prepare and cook their own meals on trangia cooking stoves, assemble and sleep in a tent and demonstrate leadership roles. Teamwork, perseverance and courage were the strong themes demonstrated throughout the expedition, making it a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.

“The Outdoor Ed camp was an enjoyable experience for us all! We loved the rock climbing and abseiling as there was such a nice view. All the activities were fun but making our own food was a challenge. Overall, we had a great time.” – Emily H and Nikki O

“Camp was a challenging experience for all of us. The bond of the group was tested and pushed but in the end, we worked together and got through. The activities were enjoyable and allowed time to get to know our own strengths.” – Tia R

“The camp was fun, full of great experiences. The best part was spending time with our class mates. The mountain biking was great, one of my favourite activities. I enjoyed every minute of it!” – Jayden E

“Such an amazing experience. I would recommend Outdoor Ed to all Year 9s!” – Andy M
