Our Senior School program is designed to guide our older students in Years 10, 11 and 12 through subject choices and experiences that will support their future study and vocation opportunities. Our program fosters independent learning to develop competent, self-motivated, confident and adaptable thinkers who are deeply involved and interested in what they are doing and are keen to take ownership of their learning and preparing them for life.
They will get ‘real life’ experience too, anything from catering for our events to making jewellery to managing the AV tech for our performances. The hands on skills they acquire are akin to what a technical college could offer, without sacrificing the individual attention and academic learning.
With a wider range of topics, there’s plenty of opportunity for students to start thinking about and planning for their future and their career. With our range of specialist subjects and resources, in conjunction with our supportive approach, we help guide students to plan out what they will do after they leave school. This is obviously an intimidating and pressure filled time for many, so we do all that we can to support our students as they head into exams and future tertiary and vocational pathways. We make it a priority to instil the following in our senior students:
- self-motivation
- dedication and tenacity
- becoming a whole person (not just about the grades)
- integrity
- an ongoing contribution to society
SENIOR SCHOOL PASTORAL FRAMEWORK
During Care Group, relationships and student development are enriched and extended through daily interactions, activities, events, and our Pastoral Framework, the VIEW (Vision for Learners, Inclusion, Endeavour Way, Wellbeing).
Care Group is a safe, caring, respectful and inclusive environment. High behavioural expectations explicitly linked to high support and encouragement allows students to flourish and thrive emotionally, socially, physically, spiritually and therefore academically.
During the Senior School journey, there is a strong partnership designed to guide our Year 10, 11 and 12 students through opportunities, choices and experiences that will engage and develop them as unique individuals, support their future aspirations, passions and pathways, and equip them to be active contributors to society.
Our aim is to develop competent, self-motivated, dedicated, confident and adaptable young people who exude integrity and are tenacious. Endeavour College Senior Years students are generous and caring, value relationships, strive for their dreams and goals and achieve their best.
Our Senior School Pastoral Framework, the VIEW, achieves these objectives through developmentally appropriate year level experiences, opportunities, activities and events guided by the Senior School Team.
Relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we dedicate time for building these connections between students and teachers, and each other. Care Group is vital for social and emotional learning and an important time for student personal, and collective development, through the Senior School Pastoral Framework of the VIEW.
SENIOR SCHOOL CURRICULUM GUIDE
“Throughout our five years at Endeavour, we have been given many opportunities to enhance our leadership skills through student representation, leadership days such as those run by yLead and the ongoing examples provided by our teachers. Endeavour has not only taught us to be critical thinkers, but to engage and better our local and global community. “
