Year 9 Obento Incursion
The Year 9 Japanese students have been exploring the cultural significance of obento, or a Japanese boxed lunch. In Japan an obento is more than just a meal, it is a way to show love and care for others, and is a convenient and portable way for students and workers to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. After researching the topic, students then set out to design their own, which then culminated in a special lesson for each class in the Food Technology room where we created our obento. The results were on the whole very oishii (delicious)! Many thanks to student teacher Chihiro Sakamoto for coming to assist us.
