Year 10 Health and Well being Day 3
Recently all Year 10 students participated in the third Health and Wellbeing day. This program looks at providing students with a range of experiences that help them make the transition into being young adults.
Sonya Ryan from the Carly Ryan Foundation presented the first session. Her focus was to provide students with a greater understanding of the implication of their online choices. Sonya talked about her personal experiences gained from the loss of her fourteen-year-old daughter to an online predator but also provided students with some simple but effective strategies to help protect themselves.
The remainder of the day saw all students undertake a variety of Service Learning activities. Students went to Backpacks for Kids, Containers for Hope, and the Foodbank. At these organisations, students learnt what happens at these places and had a chance to help with various tasks. Due to the rain, a group of students also remained at school to work on a variety of activities that helped around the school
