Plot:
We all make mistakes, we say and do things that we shouldn’t and don’t do the things we should. From everyday people like you and me to our world leaders. Sometimes the effects of our mistakes are small, other times we fail to understand just how deep our failures will impact on a few or the many.
We live in a cloud of shock, fear and disbelief. We watched the United States of America elect a man, many of us view as incompetent, ignorant and unsuitable for public office to the highest position of authority in the free world. Move to a different vantage point and look at just how absurd the world we live in is, there are nations who can’t feed their citizens, while in Australia, one of our biggest issues, is food waste. We live in the digital age where centuries of human knowledge and information is accessible from the devices in our pockets. Yet we choose to focus on the lives of a few extravagant, undeserving celebrities. Come step back with us, and have a guilty laugh at how truly surreal our experience is, in a way only fiction is capable of expressing.
But through the absurdity and the pain, there is hope, always. The same way one person is capable of harming, they are also able to make others feel safe, accepted, seen and heard. As people, we all crave safety and companionship. We all want the same thing.
The Endeavour College Drama Department invites you to look at how decisions affect real people, with glimpses into their homes and a more intimate view of the struggles people experience every day. Watch these characters fight to survive and walk a mile in their boots as we meet the faces behind the statistics.
Our production, written and directed by Jamie Richards, consists of over thirty amazing students from years 10-12, from different creeds and nationalities, with unique insights and views of the world. The Drama Department prides itself on our amazing soundtrack and this show is no different, including live music which we are very excited to share! The set and lighting are both beyond spectacular, comprised entirely of student efforts.
