Matt completes the Defence Industry Pathways Program (DIPP)
Matt Adcroft, current Year 11 student, proudly showcases the results of a semester length Defence Industry Pathways Program (DIPP) project (2018) – an advanced manufacturing model of the Air Warfare destroyer.
The DIPP focuses on advanced manufacturing and design, and developing high-level employability skills for young people seeking to enter the defence industries. DIPP is a collaborative approach that is delivered by TAFE SARegency campus, funded by ASC Pty Ltd through Commonwealth funding and supported by the Advanced Technology Project managed within DECD.
As part of the semester course, Matt completed a SACE Stage 1 accredited Design and Technology 10 credit unit course including CAD design and 3D printing. In addition, Matt developed knowledge and skills in advanced manufacturing technologies while completing practical activities. Matt used a full colour, powder printer called Z Printer 650 to manufacture his project and software called Inventor 2018. The course allows Matt to do a exam that gives him a Cert 1 in 3D modeling.
A great result Matt – good luck with that exam!
